Six adults were injured in a shootout outside a multi-school complex in Oakland, California, on Wednesday afternoon.

No suspects were arrested after a shot fired outside the King Estate complex, police said. No victims have been identified.

Three of the victims were in critical condition at one Bay Area hospitalthe San Francisco Chronicle reported. Three others were taken to another hospital, where one person was released by the afternoon.

Two people suffered life-threatening injuriesaccording to the local branch of ABC KGO.

The complex houses the Bay Area Technology School, Rudsdale Newcomer High School, Rudsdale Continuation School, and the Sojourner Truth Independent Study.

Police did not say whether there was any 18-year-old student among the injured adults. The shooting had no effect on a nearby primary school.

Any potential motive for violence remains unclear.
