Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made himself quite clear when he spoke with former US President Bill Clinton on Tuesday. As the United States provides more weapons and ammunition for Ukraine, other nations will follow suit, Zelenskiy said.
“When the US gives Ukraine artillery, other countries support us and provide it as well,” Zelenskiy said during a conference call with Clinton and the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) panel.
Zelenskiy continued: “When the US recognizes [Russia] as sponsor of terrorism, the democracies of Europe will also support this initiative. That’s why when you ask me what the US can do to help, be leaders. ”
The Ukrainian president has been gracious with any ammunition received so far, but said US influence over other democracies is essential to help bring Ukraine together as the war against Russian aggression not only wipes out in the seventh month, but begins in the winter season .
“They have the artillery we need, the right weapons. And politically, the United States can exert pressure here, ”Zelenskiy said.
Zelenskiy also used the opportunity to speak with Clinton to summon world leaders who remained neutral in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which began its final chapter on February 24, 2022.
“You cannot balance between good and evil, light and dark. You must choose a side. Every subject, every state is open, free. So they can choose a side, but they can’t be in the middle. ” Zelenskiy said.
Zelenskiy also said that the United States and the United Kingdom should be at the forefront of efforts to ensure Ukraine’s security, leading the European Union to follow suit.
“I think it is very important that the United States becomes the first country to sign these security guarantees with the Ukrainian side,” Zelenski said.
When all was said and done, Zelensky called his meeting with Clinton, the 42nd president of the US, sincere and productive. “
The war against Russian aggression on Wednesday will enter the 28th week.
Russia began building troops along Ukraine’s northern and western borders in late January, and att*cks on Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. Both sides have suffered heavy losses since then. This includes Ukrainian civilians, foreign fighters, the Ukrainian military and nearly 55,000 Russians.
