CBS News projects that Democrats have clamped control Senate in the aftermath half year 2022. This came after CBS News predicted Saturday night that incumbent Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez had been re-elected in Nevada after a fierce race with Republican challenger Adam Laxalt.

The win gives Democrats the anticipated 50 seats and control of the Senate, regardless of the outcome Georgia second round of elections in December between Senator Raphael Warnock and Republican challenger Herschel Walker.

“The election is a big win for the American people,” Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer said at a briefing late Saturday night. “With the races now being held in Arizona and Nevada, Democrats will have a majority in the Senate and I will be the majority leader again.”

Pleased President Biden – who is in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations – told reporters on Sunday morning that Schumer had “won a majority again.”

“Our focus is now on Georgia,” said Biden. “We feel good because of where we are. And I know that I am a presumptuous optimist. I understand it from the beginning, but the turnout does not surprise me. I am extremely pleased with the attendance. And I think this is reflect the quality of our candidates. And they all take part in the same program. There was no one who was not involved in what we did. Everyone stays, they stick to it. So I feel good. I look forward to the next few years. “

A man entrusted with helping Republicans gain control of the Senate, National Republican Senate Commission chairman Rick Scott is dissatisfied with the Republican party’s mid-term performance.

“On election day, our voters did not show up. We didn’t have enough voters, ”he told Fox News Friday night.

Alaska, where three candidates took part in the ranking vote, has yet to be elected, but thanks to the two Republicans’ top two winners, CBS News predicts it will remain in their hands.

CBS News predicted Arizona on Friday night Senator Mark Kelly will win re-election against Republican challenger Blake Masters.

In other battlefield states, CBS News predicted races in Wisconsin, Florida, Ohio, and North Carolina will go to the Republicans, while the Democrats will win in Colorado, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.

In each of the Senate battlefields where CBS News has conducted exit polls, voters have found Senate control is important to their vote. CBS News conducted nationwide surveys in 11 key battlefield states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin.

In each of these states, voters had a negative view of the national economy.

In most states on the Senate battlefield, the issue of inflation is ahead of ab*rtion in terms of its importance to voters. But in Pennsylvania’s closely watched racewhere Democrat John Fetterman overtook Dr. Mehmet Oz, an early exit poll showed ab*rtion stayed ahead of inflation as a voter concern.

Nearly three out of four voters said they were unhappy with the country as they went to the election on Tuesday, according to an early exit poll. This includes nearly a third of those who said they were furious. Almost three-quarters said the economy was bad, and nearly half of voters said their families’ finances were worse than it was two years ago.

Thirty-five Senate seats were up for grabs in the 2022 mid-term elections, but less than a third was expected to be close.
