A Garden Center in York is hosting a special Christmas shopping night to raise funds for young cancer patients.
Dobby’s York Store is getting into the festive spirit by supporting its national charity partner, the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Dobbies is inviting shoppers to take advantage of extended shopping hours on Thursday, November 25 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., which will showcase a range of festive, and feature contests, discount vouchers, exhibits and samples.
Customers will be able to donate to charity, write festive messages on baubles for the wish tree, and win prizes at the Christmas Your Way raffle, a chance to win all the items displayed on a specially made Christmas tree.
In partnership with Lindt there’s a tree for chocolate fans, one for kids with Living Nature, one for those who love to chukkit their pets, gardening gurus with Bergen & Ball, and fashionistas with Powder. The raffle will open at night and close on December 17.
Sarah Murray, Partnerships and Events Manager, said: “Christmas is the one time of year we all look forward to at Dobbies York stores, and we look forward to welcoming people for a full festive experience with our late-opening evenings. Can’t wait to. There will be a free welcome drink and a range of Christmas gifts, decorations and products to choose from.
“Most importantly, we are raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, who do incredible work with youth across the country. This is going to be the best way to start the festive season.”
Donna Bednarek from the charity said: “We are absolutely delighted to be collaborating with Dobbies, due to be open late on 25 November. Donations from Dobbies’ customers will enable us to give the gift of care, or the gift of community, from our nurses . at one of our specialist units for young cancer patients across the UK.”
There is a £1 donation to participate, with all money going to the Teenage Cancer Trust – available in advance or in-store overnight.
