newsweek Below is the full recap.
Excitement season 2 episode 1 recap
Episode 1 begins with a flashback of Fez’s drug-dealing machine grandmother carrying a gun to a strip club and shooting Fez’s father in the pelvis. A bloodied penis and a screaming naked woman set the tone for the entire episode: sex, drugs, violence and twisted love.
We all knew that raising FaZe and his younger brother Ash (Jevon Walton) was going to be a bit troublesome, but we didn’t expect it to be as bad as it was. Being raised around drugs and violence now explains his violent outburst in the Season 1 finale and what’s to come at the end of the first episode of Season 2. After all, his grandmother taught him “sometimes violence is the best way to solve a problem.”
Rue in Dangerous Waters
After 10 minutes on Fez’s backstory, Excitement Jumps into the present day where we are finally reunited with a troubled Rue, who is sniffing any substance of her choice high behind Fez and Ash’s car as they go on to do some “real serious business”. depart. With a dealer named Laurie.
Meanwhile, Rue is pouring his heart out to a random girl named Faye (Chloe Cherry) in the back of the car, about which Jules is dropping her off at the train station and watching Faye shoot some heroin. Rue begs her not to do so, but her cries are unanswered, thanks to two dodgy-looking dug-out dealers who drag her out of the car.
After a very uncomfortable strip search, Fez’s drug deal was successful. Rue then spends the car ride home preaching that the female kingpin they had just visited was a “f****** legend” and that there needed to be more female drug dealers on the scene. Is this a foreshadowing of what is to come?
Happy New Year Nate and Cassie
Cassie and Nate bump into each other conveniently outside the convenience store, where Cassie jumped out of the car and left her sister after a big fight. Right off the bat, Nate asks about Cassie’s relationship with Mackay (Aljie Smith) and whether they are still together. they are not.
Fast forward a very fast car ride and for the party, Cassie and Nate are having sex in the bathroom, which isn’t a surprise at all.
Their short meeting is quickly interrupted by Nate’s ex, Maddie, who bangs on the door demanding to go to use the bathroom. Luckily she is completely unaware Cassie and Nate are together but that doesn’t stop Cassie from breaking down in tears, horrified by the fact that she slept with her best friend’s ex-boyfriend.
When Maddie uses the bathroom, Cassie decides to hide in the bathtub by closing the shower curtain. Maddy reconnects Excitement Newcomer Travis (Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flannory Jr.) to smoke weed together. They are completely unaware they have company until Cassie’s phone starts vibrating in the bathtub.
Travis pulls back the curtain to find Cassie pretending to be out and she is only saved by Maddie’s ignorance. She doesn’t care for the anonymous pass-out girl and asks Travis to dance instead.
Rue is in danger…again
Meanwhile, Rue is closest to new guy Elliot (Dominic Fike) and there’s a huge chance he’s taken the heroin Faye left in FaZe’s car.
We don’t see her taking it, but it is hinted at seriously when Rue’s pulse drops and she believes she is going into cardiac arrest and especially when Elliot helps her out by giving her some Adderall and asks Is “Didn’t we take the same amount of drugs?” And Rue shoots back a hard “no”.
some weird conversations
It may take viewers some time to get over the most uncomfortable conversation between McKay and Nate in this episode.
When Mackey takes Cassie to a different room at a New Year’s party to talk about their breakup, Nate directly asks her if they’ve had sex and taunts her with all the obvious details, Due to which Mackay and the audience are being harassed.
McKay does well to keep his cool and the audience may be wondering if it’s because he knows that Nate and Cassie slept together at the party a few hours ago. Eventually, when Cassie told him she thought she was “not a good person”, Mackey understood exactly what he meant. Is Mackay planning some kind of revenge later?
rue and jules reunion
Rue and Jules also reunited on Fire and they seem like total strangers rather than former best friends and lovers.
Rue confesses to Jules that she was gone the night before, Jules drops her off at the train station, but later apologizes, saying that she remembers him as if the clock strikes midnight.
Rue also admits to Jules that she wants to be with him, leaving both of them with more questions than answers.
After all, the only people who didn’t feel awkward coming out of the New Year’s Eve party patronage were Fez and Lexi, who might be new. Excitement The pairing we’re looking forward to.
Fez goes for Nate
After receiving Lexi’s number, things turn into grave darkness for Fez. Glances at Nate, FaZe takes off his jumper, looking ready to kill.
Excitement Fans will remember in Season 1, Nate called the police on FaZe after confronting Nate about his violent behavior toward women. With the police on him, Fez is forced to give away all the drugs he sold to Mouse (Miko Gattuso), eventually leaving Fez in a lot of debt.
Under the guise of wishing Nate a happy new year, FaZe turns a glass bottle of Malibu and punches Nate on the floor, leaving him bloodied and unconscious, the audience not knowing where to look and is gasping for air.
Perhaps, Rue summed it up perfectly when she was able to whisper “damn!” under her breath.
Damn it really.
Excitement Season 2 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Max.
