A group of mainly women and girls left Kabul on Thursday for Doha.
FIFA was assisted in the rescue plan by the Qatari government, which worked with them to secure the escape.
Sources close to the operation said: “The group has now reached Doha and is happy to be safe.
There have been lengthy negotiations since August to oust the group.
It is understood that FIFA will continue to work for a safer route for more players and their families from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan in August.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
