Firefighters are working to put out the blaze in Wilmington, which has closed the area’s railroad.

Officials said crews were responding to a fire Wednesday afternoon in Wilmington, where garbage and grass were burning near the ship’s containers.

The fire broke out at 2:40 a.m. on the 1400 block of Almeida Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Loud noises were heard nearby, which were responded to by an effective content team.

According to the department, a railway in the area was also closed through the Almeida corridor.

Smoke plumes could be seen from a distance during the fire.
