Gerry Horner has been devastated Brother Max Halliwell died suddenly at the age of 54.

Gerry and husband Christian, a Formula One boss, were in Qatar for the country’s grand prix when Max died.

A source close to Gerry told The Sun: “This is the most horrifying, devastating, heartbreaking news and Gerry is completely broken by it.



“It’s been a very painful time since she heard that Max was taken to the hospital, and the worst outcome that everyone close to the family expected.”

The source added: “They are all rallying together but she barely knows what to say or what to think right now – she loved him so much.”

A spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said in the statement: “Police were called at 9.40am on Wednesday 17 November to report a concern for the welfare of an individual at a residential property in Birkhamsted.

“Officers, along with the former England Ambulance Service, attended the scene.

“The man was traced and taken to the hospital for treatment, where he later died tragically.

“His death is being treated as non-suspect and will be referred to the coroner.”

A spokesman for Gerry’s told The Sun: “As you can imagine this is a difficult time and we would ask you to respect the privacy of the family at this time.”
