Husband reprimands wife for canceling doctor’s appointment so that he can cook her dinner

A husband has been branded “disrespectful and controlling” online after it was claimed he had canceled his wife’s doctor’s appointment so that he could focus on hosting dinners for her and his friends.

Reddit’s controversial “Am I the A**hole?” His astonishing actions were chronicled in a post shared on subreddit, where users reacted with shock at his alarming reaction to his wife’s ongoing health issues.

According to the post, which was written by the wife of the manglik husband, he had “problems” with his vision. As a stay-at-home mom, she had to hold off on seeing a doctor for several weeks due to being “too busy.”

However, she booked herself in for a check-up after being advised to speak to a medical professional about the problem “ASAP”. There was just one problem: her husband wanted to “be with friends for dinner” that day.

When he told her about the appointment, he brushed off his concerns, telling his wife that she could “reschedule” because her “eyes looked fine.”

Despite this, she refused to back down, saying that “it’s urgent” and that she “needs to leave.” Although she says her husband “nods” in agreement on this, the day of the appointment had come, things had changed.

As she was on her way out to see the doctor, he stopped her and explained that she had “already sent an email canceling the clinic” and that she could “probably” go next week instead.

When asked why she canceled the appointment, the husband bluntly replied that it was so she “could host dinner for her friends” and that she “already knew that”. Don’t be surprised.”

The woman said she went “crazy” at this reaction and refused to host the dinner, rebooked the appointment and went out as planned. According to the Post, her husband had “a fit” over the response as he had “already invited his friends to dinner” and refused to “bail” them.

Desperate to control the situation, the wife said that her husband refused to take her there, forcing her to call her sister and ask for a lift, while her “nakhna” continued.

When she returned later that evening, she found the house “empty” and her husband called her later that evening to say that he had “failed her” by refusing to host dinner. He then proceeded to spend the night outside and returned only the next day, when he was still “panicked”.

He also called them “manipulative and stubborn” for refusing to comply with their demands. But when she admitted that her husband does a “very stressful and demanding job,” she was unsure whether he was right to try and control her behavior.

Thankfully, Reddit was on hand to set that right.

“This is not someone who respects your autonomy,” Mintey told the woman. “He is a man who believes he has the right to use whatever tools are available to him to get his way.” Calligrafiddler agreed: “Medical issues trump social issues… Your husband is abusive and has a huge hole.”

ThatOneThingimajig noted: “He would prefer you be in pain and neglect your health because he doesn’t have food to cook or host” with chaos_rgj commenting: “This kind of behavior comes from a much deeper level of carelessness. and is beyond disrespect.”

Elsewhere, EngageAndMakeItSo accused the husband of “endangering the health of his wife for his own selfishness” and later trying to make her “feel bad for his monstrous behavior”.

Others, like TepidCourage, said the fact that she had a demanding job while she was a stay-at-home mom was irrelevant. “She’s abusive and controlling,” he wrote. “You’re wrong that you owe your husband to stay at home in the form of 24/7 childcare and maid service.”

PsilosirenRose added: “He’s controlling, abusive and entitled. He’s your husband and he’s putting your health and safety on the back burner for his convenience and fun.”

According to Pew Center research published in 2014, the number of mothers who do not work outside the home has increased 29 percent since 2000, up from 23 percent a decade ago.

This represents a marked reversal in the overall decline in stay-at-home mothers recorded in the last three decades of the 20th century.

Husbands have been a regular source of controversy and panic on social media, be it a man who wants his pregnant wife to get up before 7 a.m. or a husband who refuses to help his wife with childcare.
