Thanksgiving is a federal holiday, which means public institutions, offices and most banks are closed on this day.

Many shops are also closed, although some remain open, often with limited hours.

The holiday falls on the last Thursday of the month, so if you’ve been waiting for your mail to be delivered on November 24, don’t hold your breath.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is closed on Thanksgiving Day, one of the 11 holidays celebrated each year, which also includes Christmas and New Year’s Day.

However, you can still prepare your Thanksgiving post online if you have a account. Through your account, you can buy stamps, order boxes and print shipping labels, so that when the post office reopens, you can post parcels without queues. You can also schedule a package pickup through your account.

If you just want to send a letter and a small package, PO Boxes will remain available nationwide, so you can leave your mail and then it will be ready for collection when normal delivery and collection services resume on Black Friday, November 25.

In addition, stamps are also sold in most major supermarkets that are open on some federal holidays.
