The wall at Whiten Shaw, South Manchester, was painted by street artist XP19 in recognition of the footballer’s work to tackle children’s poverty.

The wall project is a collaboration between the Manchester Art Gallery, the National Football Museum, the University of Manchester and others, and includes many images celebrating Black, British culture for Cultural Heritage Month.
Lara Crossley, head of materials at the National Football Museum, said: “Over the last 18 months, Marcus Rashford has made a significant impact on the ability of footballers to be off the field. The flow of love and support for one of South Manchester’s own was about to die.
He added: “As a football museum in the heart of Manchester, we are very proud to share the story of Marx, Google Arts and Culture with our partners in our galleries.”

On the campaign, Mr Rashford said: “I have often noticed that discrimination is due to lack of education and reservations only for asking and understanding questions.
