Marcus Rashford’s Manchester Wall is available for viewing on Google Street View.

A close-up of the Marcus Rashford Wall in Manchester will be available for viewing on Google Street View in celebration of the Soccer Player of the Month of Black History.

The wall at Whiten Shaw, South Manchester, was painted by street artist XP19 in recognition of the footballer’s work to tackle children’s poverty.

In England’s Euro 2020 tournament, England’s defeat at the hands of Italy, Rashford broke after losing the penalty.

Over the next few days, he was greeted with messages of love and support for the 23-year-old footballer, which are now available for closer viewing on Google Street View.

Lara Crossley, head of materials at the National Football Museum, said: “Over the last 18 months, Marcus Rashford has made a significant impact on the ability of footballers to be off the field. The flow of love and support for one of South Manchester’s own was about to die.

He added: “As a football museum in the heart of Manchester, we are very proud to share the story of Marx, Google Arts and Culture with our partners in our galleries.”
