A new discount store is set to open later this week – creating 75 new jobs.
Home Bargains has invested approximately £1 million in its new store in Chichester.
The Barnfield Drive store, which is scheduled to officially open Saturday, November 27 at 8 a.m., will create 75 jobs in the local community.
The 17,685-square-foot site that Wix formerly owned will include a range of products, including homewares, Health and beauty, food and drink.
The store will also come with its own garden center – Gardenworld at Home Bargains – featuring plants, soil and an array of garden decorations.
In total, the store will employ 80 team members, including staff and management, who will be transferred from other local home bargain stores.
New store manager Rob Miles said: “I began my home bargains journey three years ago and have worked as store manager in Eastley and Portsmouth during that time.
“There’s no such thing as talking about opening a new store – there’s a lot of hard work and dedication in the new site and I can’t wait to open its doors this weekend with such a great team. Proud of.
“Barnfield Drive will be a great location for us and we are proud to be able to offer top-branded goods to the locals at exceptionally low prices.”
The store has also pledged to donate £2,000 to St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Bosham, near Chichester, which provides palliative and end-of-life care.
Laura Eastwood, fundraising manager at St Wilfrid Hospice, said: “We are delighted to welcome Home Bargains to Chichester and thank St Wilfrid Hospice for their kind donation.
“We are a local charity that supports local people living with life-limiting illnesses and this donation will make a real difference to our community.”
The new store will join over 575 home bargain outlets across the UK.
Home Bargains opens about 50 stores a year.
