Pedestrian deaths are the 110th homicides in 2021.

A man who police say was killed in a car crash in Auckland last month died of his injuries Monday, the 110th murder in the city this year.

According to police, the man died at the Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley around 6 p.m.

Authorities did not identify him Tuesday, citing an investigation.

The 110th massacre in Auckland this year is higher than the 2020 total, which ranked three for the first time since 2012. 2021 is 21 embarrassing from the total 2012 figures.

The collision took place just before 2:40 a.m. in the 10200 block of International Boulevard, police said. When officers arrived, the man suffered severe head injuries.

The driver of the car that hit him fled the scene. Investigators later determined that the driver was seen deliberately hitting a pedestrian. Police did not say what their motive was.
