Investigators released surveillance photos Monday as they worked to locate a man who A woman was shot dead on a Metro Red Line train in Hollywood over the weekend..
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the shooting was reported around 5:10 a.m. Sunday when the train stopped at Hollywood / Wine Station along Hollywood Boulevard.
Responding officers found a woman who had been shot several times.
Paramedics performed CPR on the victim before she was taken to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, officials said.
The woman was not publicly identified until Monday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses told investigators that they saw an enraged man walking on the train, sitting with the victim and arguing with him. When the train stopped at Hollywood / Wine station, he pulled out a gun and shot her before running away.
Detectives are still working to identify the attacker and released surveillance photos of a suspect Monday. He did not say whether he knew the victim before the shooting.
The LAPD describes the gunman as a Latin man with black hair in the mid-20’s in Pattol or Bin. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, blue jacket and shorts with white shoes, and the photos show him wearing a surgical mask.
