Jimmy Garoppolo couldn’t do enough as a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, giving the Denver Broncos Russell Wilson a chance of a win that could have been a loss.

The 49ers were defeated on Sunday 11-10 by the Denver Broncos. Wilson is now 5-1 against Garoppolo and 18-4 against 49ers, and all previous games are played as the Seattle Seahawks quarterback.

Wilson rallied 80 yards and a 12-play to lift Denver for the final score, with the 49ers hitting a two-point conversion pass. It happened on the night Wilson fought as much as Garoppolo and the Broncos were booed by local audiences for their offensive futility.

Garoppolo scored the 49ers near midfield, then forced himself to throw a first and ten towards Samuel’s Deebo, who was now blinded. Jonas Griffith, a former 49er, caught a reflected interception just before the two-minute warning.

Garoppolo was 18 from 29 to 211 yards, one touchdown, one intercept. Wilson was 20 from 33 to 184 yards, no touchdowns, no steals.
