Pigs in Blanket pop-up restaurant dedicates entire menu to festive favorites

Meat lovers are ready to head to the world’s first restaurant that serves nothing but food and drinks made with pigs in blankets – the country’s festival favorite.

Hailed by millions as the best bit of Christmas dinner, according to fans, the bacon-wrapped sausage trumps everything else on the plate.

Now the meat mastermind at Bristol Butcher The Jolly Hog has taken center stage and created a menu dedicated to the item.

Jolly Hog sells the award-winning, British outdoor breed, RSPCA assured sausage and bacon – including pigs in blankets – in supermarkets across the UK.

The carefully curated menu features sweet and savory Christmas classics with a porky twist. Fans can expect great starters and meaty mains, such as the ‘pib cocktail’, a take on the prawn and Thousand Island dressed dish, mince pib pies, a return to the original recipe served in the early Middle Ages, and ‘festive fondue’ , a cooked Camembert served with a pile of pigs in blankets for dipping.

The chefs at Pigsty – Jolly Hog’s Bristol-based restaurant where the menu will be available – have also featured a shareable, Christmas dinner trifle – which includes creamy mash, cranberry-soaked brioche and pork in blankets.

However, those who want to try out the limited-edition menu will have to hurry. The pop-up will only be open for three days – opening its doors on Friday December 3rd until Sunday December 5th, which is also National Boar in Blanket Day.

Ollie Kohn of The Jolly Hog said, “We love to hear how much our customers love our pigs in blankets, and we thought it was time to give these porky treats the attention they deserve for Christmas.” .

“Something so delicious shouldn’t be tucked over the edge of a plate of turkey and sprouts.

“As well as being packaged with PIB, our chefs have made sure that every item on the menu is as steamy as our bangers, as our customers are used to getting the best.”
