NEW YORK (AP) – The Republican Fundraising Committee is dedicated to turning the House around in next year’s midterm elections.
The nine-month record cycle has increased by 74% over the previous cycle, including 25 25.8 million raised in the third quarter of the year. The group said it now has 65 65 million in cash, nearly three times as much as four years ago.
“The House Democrats are rushing out because they know their days are in the majority and we look forward to keeping up the pressure,” said Tom Emer, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, in a statement.
The numbers are the latest sign that Republicans are moving in the medium term, as President Biden’s popularity declines and history goes with him. The president’s party almost always loses seats in the midterm elections, and Democrats now have a narrow majority.
The Democrats’ congressional fundraising arm has not yet released its total amount until September. But last month, the group announced it had raised 10 10 million in August – improving the Republican House Campaign Committee’s 6. 6.5 million.
The NRCC increased the Democratic House Committee from 45 45.4 million to 36 36.5 million in the second quarter of the year ending June 30.
A total of .4 19.4 million from the NRCC went to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, 10. 10.3 million from House Minority Whip Steve Scalise and 2 1.2 million from Alice Stephenk, who spoke to former President Donald Trump earlier this year.
