‘Rino Disaster’ Vos in Latest Tired, Trump Fumes on ‘Cheap’ McConnell

Donald Trump blasted Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and US Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell—both Republicans—in his latest Truth Social tirade on Sunday.

The former president’s rant against lawmakers began Friday after Trump accused Vos of doing “a terrible job for Wisconsin” after he refused to overturn the state’s election results and in an investigation ordered by Republicans into the election. No evidence of fraud was found.

After Trump’s loss in the 2020 presidential election, he and his aides said he only lost because of widespread voter fraud in swing states, including Wisconsin – despite a lack of sufficient evidence to support these claims that President Joe Voted for Biden.

Vos – whom Trump dubbed “Rino” or Republican in name only on Sunday – has previously backed the president’s claims of voter fraud, but has said there is no way to overturn the election.

Trump again hit out at Vos in a series of posts on Sunday, writing that he is “seriously thinking about backing and supporting his opponent” because “anyone will be better.” Vos faces a primary battle with Adam Stein, who is challenging the chamber’s top Republican from the right.

“And Robin Vos is only getting worse,” Trump wrote on Sunday. “Many wants to put toll booths on highways, and a big gas tax ASAP. He’s a RINO disaster, the worst politician in the nation, ‘Giveaway’ Mitch McConnell, who gives Dems everything, and gets nothing for it Has – never fights for Republicans!”

Vos has insisted that attempts to reverse the election would be impossible and illegal, but Trump has still tried to pressure him to do so. Trump’s frustration with Vos was ruled by the Wisconsin Supreme Court earlier this month that the use of ballot drop-boxes in the state is unconstitutional. In a Truth Social post at the time, Trump called Vos “the turn of the election” in response to him.

“Now it’s up to Robin Vos to do what everyone knows must be done. We need fair and honest elections in our country,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. “Speaker Robin Vos has a decision to make! Does Wisconsin recapture the electors, turn the election over to the actual winner (by many!), or sit back and do nothing because our country is going to hell. continues?”

Vos told local news station WISN that Trump called him to request a reversal of the election—but he “explained that it’s not allowed under the Constitution.” Vos also said that the court’s decision was not retroactive and applied only to future elections.

As the Associated Press reports, Trump’s latest attack comes as Vos faces new investigations over a taxpayer-funded investigation into the election that found contempt for Wisconsin’s open records law, in addition to finding no credible evidence of fraud. also appeared. The investigation upheld Biden’s victory in the state, where he won by more than 20,000 votes, less than one percent.

Trump Slams McConnell

For McConnell, the Kentucky Republican has long had a rocky relationship with Trump — another strained by McConnell’s denial of voter fraud claims.

Trump on Sunday referred to him as “cheap” Mitch McConnell, potentially referring to the senator helping pass the CHIPS Act on Wednesday — after Democrats announced they were going to act on the Inflation Reduction Act, Will proceed with a big spending bill. All.

McConnell had previously threatened to block the Chips Act if Democrats passed the massive spending bill. Democrats, who announced plans to pass the bill just after the CHIPS Act was passed, prompted Trump to accuse McConnell of being “played again by Democrats” in a Truth Social post on Friday.
