After three years of pandemic power outage and power failure on June 25 this year, the California Clasico, San Jose Earthquakes vs LA Galaxy celebrated their 10th anniversary Saturday night at the packed Stanford Stadium.

The match ball was delivered by paratroopers from Team Fastrax, followed by a pre-match ceremony honoring the army.

The galaxy is leading 3-0 with two goals by Javier “Chicharito” Hernández and one by Gaston Brugman in the first half. The earthquakes coincided in the second half as Cristian Espinoza scored from the penalty spot and Nathan scored the second goal in the last. minute of play. Earthquakes have lost 3-2 and hold a 5-1-3 record against the Galaxy at Stanford.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the first California Clasico, the club held a recess ceremony with a performance by the Sacramento State marching band and honored players and coaches who competed in previous iterations, including Victor Bernardez, Sam Cronin, Clarence Goodson, including Alan Gordon, Jason Hernandez, Steven Lenhart and Jordan Stewart.

The evening ended with a colorful fireworks display.
