Chinese Canadian musician and actor Kris Wu was sentenced to prison in a Beijing court on Friday over 2020 rape charges.

A court in Beijing’s Chaoyang district has determined that the investigation has sufficiently proven that between November and December 2020, a 32-year-old polymath artist – real name Wu Yifan – raped three women. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison and to be deported from China after serving his sentence, Reuters reported.

“Wu Yifan abused three drunk women … in his home,” the district court said in a statement released via its WeChat account.

The allegations against Wu first surfaced last July, when 18-year-old college student and beauty influencer Du Meizhu accused him of s*xually assaulting multiple women while they were unconscious or intoxicated, some of whom were minors. Reportedly, Wu lured these women to his home with the promise to discuss career opportunities.
