Giving evidence via video link, China Dunning, a friend of Mr. Walgate’s, told inquirers about his death that he had discussed GHB drugs in the past and was never in danger of taking them.

Ms Dunning added: “I was convinced that it was Stephen Port’s actions.

Cara Brennan, who was part of the same circle of friends, also told the court that she “strongly feels” that Port has harmed Mr Walgate.

In September 2014, as Mr. Walgate’s death was being investigated, Ms. Dunning told police that if GHB found a toxic report in her body, she would not believe he would take it voluntarily.

Asked how police responded to her concerns that her friend’s death could be suspicious, Ms Dunning said: “They got the information professionally but I also knew that maybe They may have come to the conclusion that he is young, gay, a sex worker, and I just thought he would immediately understand that ‘yes, he does drugs too’, or that he Will be willing, or he will take the risk.

“I definitely think it had an effect on how things were run or not.”

Port initially pretended not to know Mr. Walgate when he was questioned by police and jailed in 2015 for obstructing justice.

When Ms Dunning appeared in court for her sentencing, she, Miss Brennan, and Mr Walgate’s stepfather, Sammy Sack, urged an officer to inspect the port’s laptop, but was told the procedure was expensive. Is.

The judges read out a statement in which Ms Dunning recalled telling the detective: “We said the boy was a bully. He did something to Anthony.

Ms Brennan told the court: “We were saying things like there is clear correspondence between devices, the port should have a laptop, a mobile phone. You should go and get it.

“Why don’t you go get it?”

Port killed his victims between June 2014 and September 2015.
