BOSTON (AP) – Jayson Tatum had 31 points and five assists as the Boston Celtics defeated Detroit Pistons 128-112 on Wednesday night for their fourth consecutive victory.

Jaylen Brown had 30 points and seven rebounds. Hauser himself added a career record 24 points from the bench for Boston, who has scored no less than 109 points in each of his victories this season.

After scoring just five points in an easy-going first half, Tatum had 16 points in the first five minutes of the third quarter to help the Celtics take control.

He also involved his teammates, at one point passing the ball behind his back to Al Horford to score a 3-point throw, while Boston built up a whopping 16 points clear during that period. The Celtics led 24th in fourth position.

Jaden Ivey had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Pistons, who lost four out of five. Saddiq Bey added 18 points and Bojan Bogdanovic finished with 17.

Cade Cunningham came 1st out of 11 from the field and ended the season low by four points. For the first time this season, he failed to hit double-digit numbers. He had the team’s best score of 21.4 points per game.

The Celtics entered the night with the NBA’s best offensive ratings and fired off, taking 4 of the first 6 shots as they took the lead 10-2.

Detroit had an open style to begin with, but missed in the first six shots on its way to hitting 7 out of 30 (2 out of 12 in a 3 point line) in the first quarter.

The Pistons stayed close, thanks to the Celticians who missed a few opportunities with losses. .

Boston found the rhythm in the second quarter, scoring 70% (14 out of 20) and 4 out of 8 from behind the curve to half of the lead 63-49.
