Before the Brooklyn house party, before the night of debauchery was over, a horde of intoxicated alcoholics raged before the Brooklyn house party, terrorizing neighbors and jumping on passing cars before the night’s debauchery was over.
Dozens of prep school students raged around the neighborhood at a booze-laden meeting last weekend, and one innocent woman punched her in the face as the crowd threw bottles and blocked traffic, neighbors said.
“Throwing things, whatever they can find, in the streets,” said a local resident named Michael of the Saturday night scene. “When I was walking to the store, then they started hitting cars and hopping on cars … The next day there were broken glass, bottles in the street.”
The event caused many calls to 911 and one call to the ambulance service – with a vomiting student hospitalized with visible alcohol p*osoning.
Michael remembered that he had come to the aid of a woman who cried out after one of the revelers had slapped her adult daughter in the face. Mother said she heard one of the guests declare, “I just hit someone.”
But the dad who helped oversee Saturday’s Bond St. near Degraw St., he denied the disgusting stories of underage visitors drinking it – and suggested that his neighbors racially profiled a Poly Prep County Day School back to school party with many black students in attendance.
“The kids were incredibly polite,” said Ken Hudes, a respected architect who lives three blocks from the Gowanus Building. “It wasn’t loud. No alcohol served. My son brought 100 bottles of Polish spring water. “
Locals, including Kit Roane, 53, told a completely different story about the party in the uninhabited triangle inside the building. The young participants walked brazenly down the street, squeezing bottles of vodka and cans of White Claw hard selcer.
Roane reported that he was watching one young reveler who could not stand as he vomited for an hour, while other neighbors watched the participants jump on the hood of a truck and found broken glass strewn across the front of the building the next morning.
“He couldn’t stand it,” Roane said of the young man who had dumped. “At that point, he practically vomited up blood… It was cheeky. The problem is that they don’t take responsibility for what they set in motion.
The NYPD said it sent three 911 calls, two of which concerned disordered groups. Police said the complaints were unfounded, although a video watched by The News showed dozens of people were blocking traffic and at least one car had jumped in.
Students paid up to $ 30 to attend the event that was promoted on Snapchat, according to Poly Prep students who spoke to The News on Monday as a security guard followed a reporter around the Dyker Heights school campus in Brooklyn.
“I don’t know anything about the event, so it’s not appropriate to comment,” said Jennifer Slomack, Poly Prep’s communications director.
The party started at 8:00 PM and locals described a growing crowd in the street where young people were throwing themselves out of bottles of strong alcohol as students unable to enter the building mingled outside.
Hudes admitted that some underage visitors got absorbed before showing up, but insisted that the youngsters shouldn’t cause any problems and hired bouncers insured only those invited from Poly Prep. A construction developer suggested that his white neighbors were overreacting to the number of black students attending them.
“I feel there was a bias at stake,” said Hudes, who is white. “The group of kids was African-American. They overreacted to African-American children.

But Michael, a local resident, rejected this claim and claimed that Hudes called his wife racist for no reason whatsoever.
“Most of the kids I saw blocking traffic and jumping on cars were white,” he said. “A party full of white kids and one of them beats a black woman, and I’m a racist? He doesn’t live there. He doesn’t care.
The event took place in an empty apartment in a 14-apartment building owned by Hudes, a developer whose 17-year-old son, an elder from Poly Prep Country Day School, hosted the event.
It ended around 11pm and the people inside joined the crowd outside and allegedly turned the street into an open air tavern. According to several witnesses, one 16-year-old was vomiting so badly that a resident called Uber and sent him to the hospital.
Hudes replied that the teenager’s parents were furious when they found out their son had been told he needed to see a doctor.
While police said no report of the assault had been filed, residents said the att*ck involved an adult woman who was traveling with her mother when they apparently stopped to confront teenagers blocking their car from moving. Moments earlier, eyewitness Michael said, he saw teenagers “hitting cars and jumping on cars.”
“It was just close combat back then – you have a mafia mentality and then all hell broke loose,” he said.
