NEW YORK (AP) – Aaron Judge was left homeless for the fourth game in a row and remained only one shy of Roger Maris’s 61st American League record as the New York Yankees beat Red Sox 7-5 on Saturday to get closer to the first AL East title from 2019.

The judge was 0 for 3 with two strikes and a walk. Since hitting 60th place which triggered a comeback in the ninth inning on Tuesday night, the referee has had 3 for 13 with two doubles, five walks and six strikes.

He rarely showed anger on the pitch in game seven when first base referee Chris Conroy ruled he hadn’t stopped his swing and struck. The judge pointed to the judge, then waved disgust as he made his way back to the dugout.

Anthony Rizzo defeated John Schreiber (3-4) in two rounds, who broke the draw 5-5. Rizzo has tied his career high, making his fourth 32nd run.

The Yankees (93-58) won six in a row and 10 out of 12, surpassing last year’s victories and taking the lead in eight and a half league games. They have 11 games left, ending a streak of four on Sunday before heading to Toronto for three games.

The judge also took the third shot in the first from Nick Pivett, flew to the middle in the third and walked in the fifth. He was on board when Jose Trevino finished eighth out of the way.

Xander Bogaerts went 2-4 and took the lead in AL with an average of 0.315 to 0.314 from the referee. Judge leads major leagues with 128 RBI and is fighting for the first triple crown since Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera in 2012.

Oswaldo Cabrera scored in his fourth game against Pivetta in two series, fourth rookie since debut on August 17, and Gleyber Torres scored his 24th goal this season.

Triston Casas and Reese McGuire returned to Boston in their second leg against Domingo Germán which allowed for three runs and three hits in five innings.

New York substitute Zack Britton, recovered from Tommy John’s surgery, came sixth 5-3 in his first league appearance since August 19 last year. He crossed three of the five beaters with a hit and a strike, leaving after a four-pitch, base-filled walk to Casas. Alex Verdugo drew in 5th place with the RBI single in 7th place against Lucas Luetge (4-4).

Clarke Schmidt left two runners eighth while Scott Effross scored three outs for his third defense, second from the Yankees. Pushed back by a tense right shoulder from Aug. 20, Effross allowed Rafael Devers to singles and hit Bogaerts with a throw to play two with no outs, then landed with bases loaded as Bobby Dalbec landed on the field.

Boston (72-79) is on a four-game slippage and is likely to be heading for a second loss record in three years.

Yankees center-back Harrison Bader sprinted against Abraham Almonte in a short middle run to finish in second of eighth places with two forwards.

The beaters had a 0 out of 22 on bats which ended up with Luetge’s curled ball this season before Dalbec scored the single in eighth place.

A sold-out crowd of 47,611 took the total number of seasons at the Yankee Stadium to 2.95 million, over a million more than last year, when seats were limited by mid-June due to COVID-19 restrictions. New York City is on track to raise $ 3 million for the first time since 2019 and has 14 sales, two more than three years ago.

Red Sox: RHP Nathan Eovaldi (Shoulder Inflammation) will be assessed on Monday after he begins his triple rehabilitation at Triple-A Worcester on Friday.

LHP Nestor Cortes (10-4, 2.67 ERA) starts Sunday’s series finale for Yankees and RHP Brayan Bello (2-6, 4.75 ERA) for Red Sox. Teams meet for the 19th time this year, six more than on the 2023 balanced schedule.
