“If an adult wants to self-mutilate in pursuit of fantasy they can defy God and science, all the more power to them – because they don’t expect me to pay for it,” Fine tweeted. “But no child should be put in a position to make life-changing decisions before they become adults.”

The Congressman made fun of gender reassignment saying that he can declare himself a porcupine, but it is not true.

Fine’s proposed bill follows a similar pattern already seen in other states.

The Arizona Senate voted in February to prohibit gender reassignment surgery for minors. The bill bans procedures for patients under the age of 18, except in cases of medical emergencies or a verifiable sexual-development disorder.
