The Congressman made fun of gender reassignment saying that he can declare himself a porcupine, but it is not true.
Fine’s proposed bill follows a similar pattern already seen in other states.
The Arizona Senate voted in February to prohibit gender reassignment surgery for minors. The bill bans procedures for patients under the age of 18, except in cases of medical emergencies or a verifiable sexual-development disorder.
Last month, Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered state child welfare officials start a child abuse investigation In reports of transgender children receiving gender-affirming health care.
