An investigation is under way into a violent crash in North Hollywood on Monday morning that killed two people.
The solo car crash occurred at about 1:30 a.m. when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle near the intersection of Vanland Avenue and Burbank Boulevard.
The car hit a palm tree before catching fire.
The vehicle was still burning when emergency personnel arrived, according to a Los Angeles Fire Department report.
No signs of a skid were seen at the scene, making it unclear whether the driver tried to slow down before the crash.
Two people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.
The identities of the victims have not been released.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
