Officers in Solano County responded to a traffic collision that killed two Fairfield residents Friday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, around 6:15 p.m., a southbound Mazda struck a Honda on the northbound lane of Suisun Valley Road near Morrison Lane, near the town of Fairfield.

The Mazda was traveling southbound and collided with a tree. The Mazda then turned right where it collided with a Chrysler traveling in the north lane.

The driver of the Mazda, a 38-year-old woman, and one of the passengers, an 11-year-old girl, were fatally injured after colliding with a tree. Another passenger, a 6-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

The driver of the Honda, 56-year-old Fairfield resident Janice Barry, was not injured. The 3-year-old passenger in the car suffered minor injuries.
