Why Beyoncé’s ‘Break My Soul’ Is The First Single Of Its Kind Since ‘Formation’

Beyoncé has announced that she’s releasing a new single called “Break My Soul” — and fans only have a few hours to listen to it.

The chart-topping singer, 40, revealed last week that she was set to release a new project after what was widely reported to be a 16-track album, called Renaissance,

And as fans eagerly await the album’s July 29 arrival, the Texas native is whetting their collective appetite with the project’s lead single.

After already announcing the album’s release date via her social media bios, Beyoncé once again leaned on the unusual news-sharing method on Monday morning, with an update to her profile “Break My Soul Midnight ET.” Was.

While the track’s release has already excited his devoted fans, the single’s arrival will be significant from a musical point of view, as it is his first solo studio album’s lead single in more than six years.

His last full-length studio album, lemonadewas released in April 2016, leaving “Formation” as the lead single just two months earlier.

When the single was released, former President Donald Trump was in full swing on his ultimately successful presidential campaign.

Upon its release, “Formation” was praised for its unmatched social justice, leading fans to expect an album full of tracks that would become political anthems.

Although it’s been six years between Beyoncé’s solo studio albums, she’s by no means resting on her Grammy-winning awards show.
