Why does Kyle Shanahan have an edge over Sean McVay?


When the 49ers upset the Rams with a 31–10 victory in Monday Night Football at Levi’s Stadium in October, head coach Kyle Shanahan commended his team for completing a tough challenge.

Shanahan wanted the 49ers to deliver at least 40 rushing attempts against the Rams and San Francisco with a 44-carry, 156-yard night on the ground.


“I said 40 today because it involves the whole team,” Shanahan said postgame. “Defense has to play like this. O has to play that way. Special teams have to play that way. You have to be good on the third down. We have to take turnover. It was really great that the whole team played like this. ,
