YORK’S weekly recorded Covid-19 rate has dropped by seven – but the region continues to report more cases.

The latest figures from Public Health England (PHE) show the city’s rate has fallen to 413.7 cases per 100,000 population. PHE data shows 126 more cases have been reported in the City of York council area, bringing the pandemic total to 28,432.

In North Yorkshire the rate has dropped to 11, taking it to 545.3 cases per 100,000 population. 527 more cases have been reported in the North Yorkshire County Council area, bringing the pandemic’s total to 85,451.

The rate has dropped by one in the East Riding of Yorkshire, taking it to 482.5 cases per 100,000 population – a total of 49,174 cases for the pandemic, out of 302 cases recorded in the region.

Across the UK, 47,240 more cases take the country’s total pandemic tally to 10,021,497.
